Living Waters Phuket Foundation – Building Brighter Futures

Weekly Highlights:

Emergency Food Relief Efforts – Another week has been dominated by the ongoing and urgent need for essential food relief Life Bags.  As well as extra distributions across Phuket Island this week, the Living Waters Phuket Foundation team returned once again to continue their efforts in Koh Samui.

Koh Samui – As previously reported, Koh Samui’s recovery from the economic and social devastation as a direct result of the current pandemic is several months behind that of Phuket’s. Based at the Sheraton Samui Resort, as part of our initiative with Marriott Hotels, 800 life bags were packed by Marriott staff assisted by our team.

Phuket Hotels Association Joint Collaboration – The PHA collaboration sees participating hotels fund and have the option to help pack and distribute their Life Bags, which go to people identified as most in need in their closest communities.

On Tuesday 5th April, 500 life bags were taken by the visiting group of Marriott General Managers to the Samui Central Mosque. Here the GMs handed out the life bags to local disadvantaged people who were in need of assistance. The remaining 300 bags were collected by the Women’s Organization, Koh Samui Municipality, to be distributed to the bedridden and needy.
