Living Waters Phuket Foundation – Building Brighter Futures

We had yet another full-on week for our continuing life bag food security efforts. Due to the ongoing policy of community isolation, Living Waters Phuket was responding directly to requests from local leaders to supply life bags, with over 4,500 packed and delivered over the last 7 days.

We are genuinely amazed and grateful for all of the Weeboon donations; and are thrilled to announce that we have passed the half a million mark – with a grand total of 543,600 THB having been donated this far. Let’s keep it going – this is so vital to help us carry on all the work in the local communities around education, emergency food relief, and environmental issues.

Our Foundation is delighted to announce that after 45 days of the thorough Equivalency Determination (ED) process, we have officially passed. This is a significant achievement and basically means that Living Waters Phuket can be considered the equivalent of a U.S public charity. This was made possible after an in-depth review of the Foundations official documents, paperwork, and operations, to meet the strict criteria for this ED certification.

We are, to the best of our knowledge, the only Foundation in Phuket to have ED certification; and this will allow our projects to expand even further. For example, companies such as Microsoft could provide free software to schools where our projects have already funded computer labs. In addition, it also has tax advantages to both the Foundation and donors and thus will help with international donations further.

One Life Bag costs just 140 THB and can feed a family of 4 people for up to 4 days. Please donate to help those in need, any amount is appreciated: Weeboon

This completed partnership between Living Waters Phuket and the Red Cross where LWP provided the equipment necessary to allow for 390 students across 13 schools in Phuket, to get back to school. The Foundation funded the purchase of school supplies for parentless children from this Orphanage in January 2022. LWP donated funds for school supplies and this directly allowed the children to return to school to get the chance to continue gaining an education. Funding will cover 1 full year of schooling needs for around 35 children.

  1. Kathu Wittya School

The Sustainable Education on Farming and Food Production (phase 1) is complete. This long-term initiative was designed around teaching almost 1,000 children how to farmland using proven Thai techniques and processes in order to produce and harvest food.

  1. Phuket Has Been Good To Us

Living Waters Phuket Foundation completed this project to fund and provide brand new IT equipment for over 500 disadvantaged children for the school. This project helped teachers, volunteers, and administrators to be able to deliver their English classes more effectively and efficiently.

  1. Super Life Bags

This completed project was the largest single order of life bag supplies in the last 22 months and saw over 8,700 large bags packed and delivered to Phuket and the surrounding areas in November 2021, helped by Government officials and 5 Star Marine.

Weekly Summary

Living Waters Phuket continues to distribute vital Life Bags, as the community isolation issues remain. In addition, the Foundation has worked hard to gain Equivalency Determination (ED) status; due to this Living Waters Phuket can be considered the equivalent of a U.S public charity, and this will benefit international donations and a far greater opportunity for provisions from U.S companies to assist with our projects.

LWP remains 100% devoted to helping the most vulnerable communities.
