Living Waters Phuket Foundation – Building Brighter Futures

 

Life Bag packing and distribution continued in the past week into the local community as tourism was hit by the latest world news and pandemic developments. At the same time, the Foundation was able to close off and complete some community projects, receive completed grant applications for new initiatives, as well as approve funding and commence 2nd stage funding on other projects.


Networking With Community Leaders Update:

1.     On Friday 3rd December, we received delivery of the 4th set of Care Boxes from AustCham Thailand. There was a total of 180 boxes, each containing 1,000 THB worth of supplies to support a family for a week.

2.     Friday 3rd December, the Living Waters Phuket Foundation met with the School Director of the Kathu Wittaya School regarding the ongoing projects there.

3.     On Thursday 2nd December, the Foundation met with the Asia Welfare leaders about the ongoing projects that Living Waters Phuket is performing.

Food Security Update:

Life Bag Packing / Distribution Update

On Friday 3rd December, the Foundation and 5 Star Marine packed 1,000 Life Bags as part of the ongoing Life Bag food crisis support.

Marketing Highlights:

On December 9th NBC Universal confirmed a filming and production day with Living Waters Phuket to highlight the Foundation and the work it is doing and has carried out to date.

Latest Aid / Grant News:

Kathu Wittya School

The Sustainable Education on Farming and Food Production project for phase 1 is now complete. Phase 2 grant application was completed for the construction of buildings to store produce and a shop front from which to sell.

 

Phuket Has Been Good To Us

The grant to provide IT equipment for teachers, volunteers and administrators for this children’s charity is now complete and was a success– all IT equipment has been funded, delivered, and set up.

 

The Good Shepherd

Living Waters Phuket has approved a grant for The Good Shepherd for Solar Panel Installation for the Good Shepherd Phuket Town (GSPT) Learning Centre, and this is now pending invoicing.

 

Life Home Project

The Board has approved the application to provide funding for educational opportunities for HIV-positive Thai Children, with funding to be made available by mid-December.

 

Tambon Phunai Koh Yao Yai

Funding has been approved to fund 25 orphan students to attend school for the next 12 months.

Weekly Summary

Living Waters Phuket Foundation continued to pack and distribute Life Bags, whilst at the same time nurturing community relationships and media opportunities to get our message and purpose out there. A grant was approved for the 2nd phase of our first completed grant. Our second grant was completed and the 3 other grants we have approved are moving forward. In the coming weeks, there are a number of projects for potential funding to consider by the board.

We continue to support our community, allowing them to build brighter futures for themselves, their families, and communities.
